I started reading this book after the seminar on Fairy Tales/Red Riding Hood and it's taken a long time to read as I found it quite deep. I had to re-read many passages in order to understand them fully but I'm still trying to put the text as a whole in context.
But I found it so interesting the different theories and aspects of the fairy tales representing the self. One part I found most intriguing was if you use "active imagination" to have a conversation with another person, that's witchcraft and bad but if you use it to have a conversation with a part of yourself, e.g. your feelings for another person without them present that's fine (completely irrelevant to whether the feelings are good or bad toward the other person).
Reading this book has been the starting point in researching Freud and Jung as I really want to know more on their theories and outlooks of the world.
I now have a list as long as my arm...(nearly) of books I need to read...I also need to concentrate on blogging a bit more...
